Bottle, cellar, location, and tasting information is stored on your device with SwiftData and privately synced by Apple when iCloud is available.
Up to three bottle photos are processed only when you request Smart Scan. Bottle details are processed when Smart Scan estimates an initial drinking window or when you request a Drinking Window Update.
App Store purchases are managed by Apple and validated for Cellarune by RevenueCat.
Cellar Data and your Cellarune Account are controlled separately.
No. Your cellar is stored on your device and, when available, privately synced through Apple CloudKit under your iCloud account. Cellarune's Firebase backend does not store your cellar.
Sign in with Apple and Firebase Authentication protect managed AI requests, smart-feature quotas, abuse prevention, and account deletion. Premium purchase, Restore Purchases, unlimited bottle storage, and Premium import work without a Cellarune Account. This account is separate from the iCloud account that owns your Cellar Data.
iOS schedules Cellar Data synchronization automatically. Cellarune has no manual Sync Now command because it cannot force CloudKit to run immediately. Recent changes may take several minutes to reach another device.
Check iCloud Account verifies account access only; it does not force sync. Signing out of a Cellarune Account does not repair iCloud sync because Cellarune Account access and the iCloud account that owns Cellar Data are separate.
After you give Third-Party AI Permission, Smart Scan sends Label Photos and bottle format through Cellarune's authenticated Firebase backend to Google Gemini. A Drinking Window Update sends Wine Name, Producer, vintage, origin, varietals, wine type, and format. Processing may occur outside your country. Cellarune does not include your Cellarune Account identifier in the Gemini request and does not claim Zero Data Retention. You may refuse or withdraw permission without changing Product Analytics consent. See the Privacy Notice for details.
Free includes 25 active bottles; consumed history does not count. It also includes ten lifetime Smart Scan Attempts. Premium prices vary by App Store country or region, auto-renew with no trial, and include unlimited active bottles plus 100 AI analyses per UTC day and 100 per UTC month shared by Smart Scans and Drinking Window Updates, plus 10 bonus attempts after the monthly allowance is used. Daily limits still apply; attempts do not roll over. Purchase and Restore Purchases work without a Cellarune Account; managed AI requires sign-in.
Product analytics is off by default. If you explicitly enable it in Settings, Cellarune sends coarse feature-use events without wine names, notes, photos, prices, cellar contents, or email addresses. You can disable it again at any time.
Restore access from the Premium screen in Cellarune without creating a Cellarune Account. Manage or cancel the subscription through your Apple App Store account settings.
No. AI output is informational and may be inaccurate. Inspect bottles and storage conditions yourself, follow applicable food and alcohol safety guidance, and drink responsibly.
Cellarune is designed for VoiceOver, Switch Control, larger Dynamic Type, Reduce Motion, Increase Contrast, and light or dark appearance on iPhone.
If a control is not announced, reachable, readable, or usable with your settings, tell us the screen, iPhone model, iOS version, and accessibility setting. Do not include private cellar content.
